Cancer medicine has seen and will continue to see rapid change as new and more effective therapies come online in the coming years. It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of these changes over the nearly 2 decades that I have been practicing oncology. My goal in patient care is to make sure that every patient understands their diagnosis and is as informed as possible about treatment options. I feel that this approach leads to the best “shared decisions” between patient and physician.
