Patient Care Philosophy

Kathleen Chinn is a dedicated nurse practitioner with a career rooted in patient-centered care. Her approach begins with understanding each patient as a person—learning about their life, values, and goals—before addressing medical concerns. She believes healthcare should prioritize quality of life and shared decision-making, ensuring patients feel heard and respected. Kathleen thrives in collaborative environments, where standardized processes and teamwork enhance safety and efficiency. Her expertise spans pediatrics, geriatrics, and oncology, with a special focus on complex care management and supporting patients through challenging transitions.

“I always start by learning who [the patient] is—what brings them joy, what they’ve done in life—before we talk about diagnoses. It’s about building trust and making sure they feel heard.”
